Announcing Planet Valkey

Announcements 2026-10-14 · Jean-François Gagné

TL;DR: Planet Valkey replaces Planet for the Valkey Community. If you were following the old site, update your bookmarks because Planet for the Valkey Community will be retired. Also, if you enjoy Planet Valkey, please consider starring the GitHub repository and following us on social media (Mastodon, BlueSky Bridge, and X/Twitter).

I am pleased to announce the launch of Planet Valkey: a single destination for Valkey content.

Planet Valkey brings together content from across the ecosystem, including official project news, community blogs, cloud providers, vendors, media outlets, and independent contributors. Instead of following dozens of websites or hoping social media surfaces the content you care about, you can keep up with the latest Valkey developments from a single location.

You can access Planet Valkey here:

The best way to follow Planet Valkey is through its Atom feed, using a feed reader such as CommaFeed, Feeder or Feedly. There are many other excellent feed readers available as well (recommendations on Reddit, Hacker News, and Read less). Alternatively, you can visit the Planet Valkey website directly and browse the latest posts.

Can I follow the news via the #planet-feed channel on the Valkey Slack?

The new site is hosted under a URL more closely associated with the Valkey Project, gets rid of the "demo" branding, and has a cleaner name.

Planet Valkey is an open community project, and everyone is welcome to contribute. If you...

Finally, I would like to thank AWS Open Source for providing two years’ worth of cloud-hosting credits. Their support helps make community infrastructure projects like Planet Valkey possible. I would also like to thank my co-maintainer, Bogdan Petre, for helping maintain the service.
